  • Scripture records no dream of sweets and gives no meaning to one. There was no confectionery in the ancient Near East.
  • Sweetness in the Bible is honey, gathered wild, and its first use is for God himself: “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8) — an invitation to try rather than to conclude.
  • “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones” (Proverbs 16:24). Kindness repairs as well as pleases.
  • Ezekiel eats a scroll that tastes “as sweet as honey” although lament and mourning were written on it (Ezekiel 3:3).
  • The same book warns: “If you find honey, eat just enough — too much of it, and you will vomit” (Proverbs 25:16). The counsel is not to renounce sweetness but to eat enough.

Scripture records no dream of sweets, and gives no meaning to one. There were no sweet shops in the ancient Near East, and the Bible offers no rule for reading one into a dream.
