  • When Moses asks to see God’s glory, God answers, “I will make all my goodness pass before you” (Exodus 33:19), and the proclamation that follows in Exodus 34:6 is repeated in Psalm 103:8 and Psalm 145:8 and echoed in Nahum 1:3.
  • “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good” opens Psalm 106 and Psalm 136 and appears in the thanksgiving sung when the ark was set in its tent (1 Chronicles 16:34); every verse of Psalm 136 ends “for his steadfast love endures forever.”
