- Russian Orthodox Christians ask the prayers of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom for marriage; they were canonized in 1547, and since 2008 Russia has kept their feast, 8 July, as a Day of Family, Love and Fidelity.
- 1 Corinthians 13:4–7, Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 and Colossians 3:13–14 are the passages the prayers draw on most.
