  • الفعل العبري qavah تعني الانتظار أو الرجاء، وقد ترجمتها نسخة ESV بكلمة "انتظر" في إشعياء 40: 31 ومزمور 130: 5.
  • كانت إرميا 29: 11 موجهة إلى المسبيين في بابل، وتحدد الآية 10 وقت تحقيقها بعد سبعين عاماً.
  • ينتقل سفر مراثي إرميا 3 من "بادت قدرتي ورجائي من الرب" (الآية 18) إلى "لذلك أرجوه" (الآية 24) بعد أن يستحضر الشاعر محبة الله الثابتة إلى ذهنه.
  • تستند 1 بطرس 1: 3 و1 كورنثوس 15: 19-20 بالرجاء المسيحي على قيامة يسوع.
