  • يُحرّم سفر اللاويين 19:18 حمل الضغينة في نفس الآية التي تأمر بـ "تحب قريبك كنفسك".
  • كلمة "أصل مرارة" في عبرانيين 12:15 تتردد أصداؤها في تثنية 29:18، حيث يشير الأصل إلى شخص يتحول قلبه عن الرب إلى آلهة أخرى.
  • يخبر كل من أمثال 20:22 ورومية 12:19 الشخص المظلوم بأن يترك القصاص لله.
  • تعليق يسوع على الغفران في متى 6:14-15 يشرح سطراً واحداً من الصلاة الربانية: "كما غفرنا نحن أيضاً للمذنبين إلينا".
  • ينتهي مثل الابن الأكبر دون ذكر ما إذا كان قد انضم إلى وليمة أخيه (لوقا 15:25-32).
