概要

  • 結婚年齢を定めた聖句はありません。イサクとエサウは40歳で結婚し（創世記25:20、26:34）、モーセは40歳でエジプトを離れた後、ミディアンで結婚しました。
  • パウロは独身を良いものとし、結婚は「罪ではない」（コリント人への第一の手紙7:8–9, 36）と述べ、年齢については言及しませんでした。
  • カトリック教会法では、最低年齢を男性16歳、女性14歳と定めていますが（教会法1083条）、上限年齢を定めている教会はありません。
  • 米国における2025年の初婚年齢の中央値は、男性が30.8歳、女性が28.4歳でした（国勢調査局）。
