駆け落ちは罪か?聖書は結婚式を定めていないが、教会には規則がある

  • 聖書には駆け落ちについての言及はありません。婚約や結婚の宴、町の門での証人については記されていますが、儀式や司式者、誓いの言葉については何も定めていません。
  • カトリックの教会法では、少なくとも一方がカトリック教徒である場合、司祭または助祭と2人の証人の前でなければ結婚は有効とされません(教会法1108条、1117条)。
  • ギリシャ正教アメリカ大司教区は教会での結婚式を義務付けており、教会外で結婚した正教徒は聖体拝領を受けることができない場合があります。
  • ルターは結婚を「世俗的な事柄」と呼び、英国国教会は民事婚を済ませたカップルを祝福しています。
  • カトリックの教えでは、成人した子供は親に対して服従ではなく敬意を払うべきであり、親は子供の配偶者選びに圧力をかけないよう求めています(カテキズム2217条、2230条)。
  • 1563年のトリエント公会議と1753年の英国結婚法はどちらも秘密結婚を禁じました。そのため、英国のカップルはスコットランドのグレトナ・グリーンへ駆け落ちしました。
