  • ナオミは「全能者が私の人生を非常に苦いものにされた」(ルツ記1:20)と言い、自分をマラ(苦い)と呼ぶように求めた。

Bitterness in the Bible is sometimes the grief of loss and sometimes a sin. Naomi says “the Almighty has made my life very bitter” (Ruth 1:20), and Peter tells Simon he is “full of bitterness and captive to sin” (Acts 8:23).
