  • ローマの信徒への手紙8章20節は、被造物が「虚無に服させられた」と述べており、そこでは マタイオテス, という言葉が使われています。これは七十人訳聖書において、コヘレトの言葉の「空しい」ヘベル) を指す言葉です。
  • 詩編37編の「不平を言うな」は チャラー, を翻訳したもので、憤りによって自分を熱くすることを意味し、8節ではそれが「悪を招くだけだ」と述べられています。
  • ハバクク書1章2-3節は神への訴えであり、5節で神がそれに答えています。
