- Scripture does not interpret dreams about menstruation and does not treat it as shameful. Much written on the subject gets the second point wrong.
- Leviticus 15 covers bodily discharges and its section on men is longer. The word translated “unclean” is a ritual category incurred by ordinary things — childbirth, contact with a corpse, sex.
- Mark 5 has a woman bleeding twelve years, which meant twelve years of exclusion and of making anyone she touched unclean. She touches his cloak from behind, as someone does who expects to be refused.
- Asked to identify herself, she comes forward trembling and is told “Daughter, your faith has healed you” — the only time in the Gospels he addresses anyone that way.
- A dream about menstruation is not a sign about fertility, pregnancy or loss. Persistent pain or difficulty deserves a doctor; Scripture never sets prayer against medicine.
