  • 2 Timoteüs 3:16 noemt alle Schrift “door God ingegeven”, vanuit het Grieks theopneustos, en somt het nut ervan op als onderwijzing, weerlegging, verbetering en opvoeding in de gerechtigheid.
  • Johannes 1:1 en Johannes 1:14 spreken over het Woord als een persoon die God was en “vlees is geworden en onder ons heeft gewoond.”
  • Jesaja 40:8 zegt dat het woord van God eeuwig blijft; 1 Petrus 1:24-25 citeert dit, en Jezus zegt hetzelfde over zijn eigen woorden in Matteüs 24:35.
  • In Matteüs 4:4 antwoordt Jezus de verleider met Deuteronomium 8:3, de les van Mozes over het manna in de woestijn.
  • Jozua 1:8 en Psalm 1:2 spreken beide over het “dag en nacht” overpeinzen van Gods wet.

The word of God is what God speaks, the Scriptures, and a person who became flesh. Isaiah 55:11 promises that God’s word will not return to him empty, Paul calls all Scripture “God-breathed” (2 Timothy 3:16), and John 1:14 names the Word who “became flesh” as the Son who came from the Father.
