Zusammenfassung
- Dion DiMucci, the Bronx singer of The Wanderer, is a Catholic, and he calls himself a ferocious one.
- He was baptized at Mount Carmel in the Bronx in 1939, and he had all but stopped going to church by the time he was eight.
- He says a prayer on his knees on April 1, 1968, ended fourteen years of addiction to drugs and alcohol, and he has not used either since.
- On a morning run in Florida on December 14, 1979, he says, he had a vision of Christ that changed his life.
- He spent about eighteen years in evangelical and other Protestant churches, and it was there that he learned the Bible.
- His question about who has the authority to say what is true took him to St. Augustine and the early Church writers, and in 1997 he went back to Mount Carmel and asked a priest to hear his confession.
- In his eighties he was still making records and giving several hours a week to people recovering from addiction.
