概要

  • 地球の年齢はクリスチャンにとって複雑な問いであり、どちらか一方が正しいと証明することを目指すのではなく、信仰と科学のバランスを取るものです。
  • 主に2つの見解があります。地球の年齢を6,000〜10,000年とする「若い地球創造説（YEC）」と、約45億年という年齢を受け入れる「古い地球創造説（OEC）」です。
  • 有神論的進化論は、神が創造の手段として進化を用いたと考え、信仰と科学的理解を調和させますが、一部のクリスチャンからは批判を受けています。
  • カトリック教会は科学と信仰の対話を奨励しており、人間の魂や原罪に関する重要な教義を堅持しつつ、進化論のようなトピックに関する研究を許容しています。
