  • クララは聖書には登場しない。それはラテン語である クラルス, 、透明または明るい — 明晰さ(clarity)、宣言(declare)、高らかな音(clarion)の語源である。
  • アッシジのクララは18歳頃、夜に家を出た。家族が連れ戻しに来たとき、彼女は祭壇の布を掴み、刈り取られた頭をさらけ出した。家族は彼女を置いて立ち去った。
