  • 聖書にジョセフィンという名の人物は登場しません。これはフランス語のJoséphine(ジョセフの女性形)の英語表記です。
  • ジョセフ(Joseph)はヘブライ語のYosef(「彼は付け加えるだろう」)に由来し、創世記30章23〜24節でラケルの言葉としてその名の由来が説明されています。
