  • In Deuteronomy 32:4, Psalm 36:5, Psalm 119:90, Psalm 89:33 and Lamentations 3:23, faithfulness translates the Hebrew emunah, firmness or fidelity.
  • Deuteronomy 7:9 ties God’s faithfulness to the oath he swore to Israel’s ancestors and says he keeps covenant to a thousand generations.

The Bible calls God faithful because he keeps what he has said, even when his people do not.
