21 Bible Verses About Death



  • Romans 5:12 traces death to sin, which entered the world through one man, Adam.
  • Jesus calls the dead Lazarus asleep (John 11:11-13), and Paul uses the same language for believers who have died (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14).
  • Paul tells the Thessalonians not to grieve “like the rest of mankind, who have no hope,” and grounds their hope in Jesus’ death and resurrection.
