  • Na NVI, o Salmo 94:19 fala de “ansiedade” e o Salmo 139:23 de “pensamentos ansiosos”.
  • O Salmo 56:8 pede a Deus que “ponha as minhas lágrimas no teu odre”.
  • O Salmo 55:17 descreve o clamor “à tarde, pela manhã e ao meio-dia” antes que o versículo 22 diga ao ouvinte para lançar as suas preocupações sobre o Senhor.
  • O Salmo 31:5, “Nas tuas mãos entrego o meu espírito”, é a frase que Jesus diz em Lucas 23:46, e o Salmo 91:11-12 é citado pelo diabo em Mateus 4:6.

The Psalms name anxiety, fear and distress directly and set them beside words of trust in God. Some verses are spoken to God, as in Psalm 139:23-24; some are spoken by the psalmist to his own soul, as in Psalm 42:11; and some are instructions to others, as in Psalm 55:22 and Psalm 31:24.
