  • Psalm 24:1 and Leviticus 25:23 both say the earth or land belongs to the Lord, and Leviticus draws from it a ban on selling land permanently.
  • Genesis 2:15 uses Abad, to work or serve, and shamar, to keep or guard, for the man’s task in Eden.
  • Leviticus 25:4 gives the land a Sabbath year of rest, and Deuteronomy 20:19 forbids cutting down fruit trees during a siege.
