概要

  • 創世記、ヨブ記、詩篇、箴言の聖句において、「誠実」や「非の打ち所がない」と訳されるのは トム, トゥンマー または タミーム, であり、これらは完全さ、全体性、正しさを意味する言葉です。
  • 「わたしの前を歩み、全き者であれ」というアブラムへの神の命令は、創世記17章2節の契約の約束に先立って語られています。
  • 神は、家畜や召使い、子供たちを失った後もヨブが「なおも自分の誠実さを保っている」と語り、ヨブの妻も神を呪うように彼に言った際、同じ言葉を使っています（ヨブ記2:3、2:9）。
  • 詩篇41篇は12節で誠実さを主張し、4節で「私はあなたに対して罪を犯しました」と告白しています。
  • ルカの福音書16章10節に続いて、他人の財産に対する信頼や、神と富の両方に仕えることの不可能性についての教えが記されています（ルカ16:12-13）。
