聖書における50は解放を意味する：ヨベルの年とペンテコステ

概要

  • 50という数字は、聖書の中で真に重みを持つ数少ない数字の一つであり、それは「解放」という一つの方向に向かっています。
  • 50年目はヨベルの年です（レビ記25:10）。7回7年を数えた翌年のことです。土地はそれを所有していた家族のもとに戻り、奉仕していた人々は自由の身となりました。なぜなら、土地は神のものだからです（25:23）。
  • イスラエルが実際にこれを守ったかどうかは定かではありません。祝祭の記録はなく、土地の蓄積に対する預言者たちの不満は、それが無視されていたことを示唆しています。
  • 同じ数え方でペンテコステ（ギリシャ語で「50番目」）が導かれます（レビ記23:16）。エルサレムはその収穫祭のために巡礼者で溢れており、使徒言行録2章の群衆がすでに集まっていたのはそのためです。
