概要

  • カトリック教会は男性のみを叙階します。教会法第1024条には「洗礼を受けた男性のみが、有効に聖職に叙階される」と定められています（カテキズム1577も参照）。
  • アライズ・テレビジョンとの 『オルディナティオ・サチェルドタリス』 （1994年）教皇ヨハネ・パウロ2世は、教会には「女性に司祭叙階を授ける権限は全くない」と宣言し、1995年には教理省がこの教えは不可謬であると表明しました。
  • 教会はこの規則の根拠を、イエスが12人の男性を使徒として選んだこと、教会の不変の慣習、そして司祭がキリストの代理として行動するという役割に置いています。
