  • 聖書にリスは登場しませんが、将来のために食料を蓄えることは、聖書の中で称賛されることもあれば、警告されることもあります。
  • 箴言6章6〜8節と30章25節は、夏に備えを蓄えるアリを称賛しており、ヨセフの穀物倉は国を救いました(創世記41章35〜36節)。
  • ルカによる福音書12章16〜21節の愚かな金持ちは、同じようなことをしているように見えますが、それゆえに非難されています。
  • その違いは代名詞にあります。彼の言葉には労働者も、隣人も、貧しい人も登場せず、ただ自分自身だけです。そして収穫は、実りをもたらした土地から得られたものでした。
  • ルカによる福音書12章21節がそれを言い当てています。神に対して富まないのに、自分のために蓄えることです。その直後に、思い煩いについての箇所が続きます。
