  • アリウスはアレクサンドリア出身の初期キリスト教の人物で、イエス・キリストは神である父と共永続的ではなく、被造物であるという教えで知られています。
  • 彼の思想は三位一体の教義に異議を唱え、初期教会内に広範な議論と分裂を引き起こし、最終的にアリウス派を排斥したニカイア公会議へと至りました。
  • ニカイア信条は、「造られず、生まれた」「父と同一の本質」といった言葉を強調し、キリストの完全な神性を肯定するために制定されました。
