  • The Synod of Trent was held on February 4, 1546, to address heresies and reform behaviors in the Church.
  • The council emphasized the importance of a confession of faith to combat heresies and strengthen believers.
  • The Symbol of Faith, or Nicene Creed, was affirmed as the foundation of belief shared by all Christians.
