  • Fondamento biblico: La Bibbia mette costantemente in guardia contro la divinazione, che include la ricerca di guida o di predizioni sul futuro attraverso le stelle.1 I passi nel Deuteronomio, in Isaia e in Geremia inquadrano l'astrologia come una pratica che distoglie la fiducia da Dio per rivolgerla alle cose create, il che è considerato un peccato di idolatria e una mancanza di fiducia nella sovranità di Dio.2
  • Consenso storico ed ecclesiastico: Nel corso della storia, le principali tradizioni e i leader cristiani — dai primi Padri della Chiesa come Agostino ai riformatori come Martin Lutero, fino alle moderne denominazioni come la Chiesa cattolica e quella ortodossa — hanno messo in guardia contro l'astrologia predittiva.4 Le obiezioni principali sono che essa entra in conflitto con le dottrine cristiane del libero arbitrio e della responsabilità morale, e mina il ruolo esclusivo di Dio come fonte di guida.4
  • Il fascino e i suoi pericoli: L'astrologia fa appello ai profondi desideri umani di identità, scopo e guida, specialmente nei momenti di stress.2 Tuttavia, anche un approccio superficiale può essere una “china scivolosa” che porta a confusione spirituale, a un senso ridotto di responsabilità personale e, in alcuni casi, a un coinvolgimento più profondo in pratiche occulte che comportano conseguenze spirituali e psicologiche negative.6
  • L'alternativa cristiana: L'identità in Cristo: La fede cristiana offre una risposta più profonda alla ricerca di identità e scopo. Invece di essere definiti da un segno zodiacale, i credenti sono chiamati a trovare la loro vera e unica identità come “nuova creatura” in Cristo.8 Questa identità è sicura, radicata nell'amore incondizionato di Dio, e offre una vita di scopo e trasformazione guidata da una relazione personale con il Creatore.9
