概要

  • 聖別とは、人や物を神のために取り分けることです。出エジプト記13章2節、出エジプト記28章41節、ヨシュア記3章5節で使われているヘブライ語の動詞は qadash, であり、新約聖書の動詞は ハギアゾ.
  • 出エジプト記13章は、初子の聖別をエジプトの初子の死と結びつけており、長男は犠牲として捧げられるのではなく、贖われるべきものとされました。
  • 出エジプト記29章は、祭司の聖別について、洗浄、衣服の着用、油による聖別の儀式を記述しています。
  • ヨハネによる福音書17章では、「聖とする」（17節）と「聖別する」（19節）は同じギリシャ語の動詞を翻訳したものです。イエスは父に対し、弟子たちを聖とするよう求め、彼らのためにご自身を聖別されます。
