概要

  • アーミッシュにアルコールに関する統一された規則はありません。各教会地区の規律（Ordnung）によって決定されますが、飲酒は強く推奨されていません。
  • 2011年のオハイオ州の調査では、アーミッシュの飲酒量は近隣住民よりも大幅に少なく、アーミッシュの女性の85％はアルコールを飲んだことがありませんでした。
  • ニューオーダー・アーミッシュは、オールドオーダーの教会から分離した際、タバコ、アルコール、ベッド・コートシップ（求愛習慣）を主要な争点としました。
  • 毎年春と秋に行われるアーミッシュの聖餐式では、パンとワインが用いられます。
