聖書の供えのパンとは何か?「臨在のパン」とその机

  • 現代の翻訳で「臨在のパン」と呼ばれる供えのパンは、幕屋、そして後の神殿において、金で覆われた机の上に置かれた12個のパンのことです(出エジプト記25:30、レビ記24:5–6)。
  • ヘブライ語の名前である レヘム・パニム, は、「顔のパン」または「臨在のパン」を意味します。「Showbread(供えのパン)」という言葉は、1530年にウィリアム・ティンダルが用いたものです。
  • その机は金で覆われたアカシア材でできており、長さは約3フィート(約90cm)で、幕屋の聖所の北側、垂れ幕の外側に置かれていました(出エジプト記25:23–28、40:22)。
  • 祭司たちは毎週安息日に新しいパンを並べ、それぞれのパンの山に乳香を添え、古いパンは聖なる場所で食べていました(レビ記24:7–9)。
