Âmbar está na Bíblia King James — Três vezes, em Ezequiel



  • Âmbar aparece três vezes na Bíblia King James, em Ezequiel 1:4, 1:27 e 8:2. Nenhuma pessoa nas Escrituras chama-se Âmbar.
  • A palavra hebraica é Chashmal, encontrado apenas nesses versículos; a Septuaginta traduziu-o como elektron, âmbar ou uma liga de ouro e prata.
  • Muitas Bíblias traduzem-no como um metal brilhante: “glowing metal” (NIV), “bronce refulgente” (Reina-Valera 1960), “airain poli” (Louis Segond).
  • O nome Âmbar vem da palavra inglesa para resina fóssil, do árabe ʿanbar, “âmbar cinzento”, e tornou-se popular após o romance Forever Amber (1944).
  • Na visão, o brilho pertence à “aparência da semelhança da glória do Senhor” (Ezequiel 1:28).
