  • “Círculo” em Isaías 40:22 traduz chug, o substantivo por trás de “circuito” em Jó 22:14 e “compasso” em Provérbios 8:27; Brown-Driver-Briggs lista todos os três sob “abóbada dos céus”.
  • Jó 26:7 diz que Deus “suspende a terra sobre o nada”, e quatro versículos depois Jó fala dos “pilares do céu”.
  • Os “quatro cantos da terra” em Isaías 11:12 traduzem kanaph, asas ou bordas, a palavra por trás de “os confins da terra” em Jó 38:13.
  • Salmos 19:4-6 e Eclesiastes 1:5 descrevem o sol a nascer, a pôr-se e a percorrer o seu circuito.

The King James Bible speaks of the earth in more than one way. God “sitteth upon the circle of the earth” (Isaiah 40:22) and “hangeth the earth upon nothing” (Job 26:7), and the same books speak of its foundations, its pillars and “the four corners of the earth” (Isaiah 11:12).
