  • Yeshua è il nome ebraico di Gesù e significa “egli salva”: la forma lunga, Yehoshua, significa “il SIGNORE salva”.
  • È la forma abbreviata di Yehoshua, il nome di Giosuè, e la Bibbia greca ha scritto entrambe le forme come Iēsous, che in italiano è diventato Gesù.
  • In ebraico si scrive ישוע, o יֵשׁוּעַ con le vocali, e si pronuncia yeh-SHOO-ah.
