概要

  • ラザロという名前は「神は助けてくださった」を意味し、聖書には二つの異なる物語に登場します。一人は貧しい乞食として、もう一人はイエスの親しい友人として死からよみがえらされた人物です。
  • 聖書にはラザロという名の二人の人物が登場します。イエスのたとえ話（ルカによる福音書16章）に登場する乞食と、イエスによってよみがえらされたベタニアのラザロ（ヨハネによる福音書11章）です。
  • 乞食ラザロの物語は永遠の運命と貧しい人々への憐れみを教えており、ベタニアのラザロの復活は死に対するイエスの力を示し、イエス自身の復活を予兆しています。
  • どちらのラザロの物語も、信者が自らの人生を省み、憐れみを示し、苦しみや困難の中にあっても神の時と愛を信頼するようにと励ましています。
