Zusammenfassung
- Der Name Jesu auf Aramäisch, seiner Muttersprache, war „Yeshua“ (×™Öµ×©× ×•Ö¼×¢Ö·), was „Jahwe rettet“ oder „Jahwe ist das Heil“ bedeutet. Dieser Name entwickelte sich über das Griechische („Iēsous“) und das Lateinische („Iesus“), bevor er im Englischen zu „Jesus“ wurde.
- Zu seiner Zeit war Jesus eher unter Bezeichnungen wie „Jesus von Nazaret“, „Jesus, Sohn des Josef“ oder „Jesus der Galiläer“ bekannt, anstatt einen formellen Nachnamen zu haben. Diese Identifikatoren spiegelten die kulturellen Namenspraktiken der damaligen Zeit wider.
- Die frühen Kirchenväter betonten die spirituelle Bedeutung und Kraft des Namens Jesu und sahen darin eine Manifestation seiner göttlichen Natur und seiner rettenden Mission. Sie lehrten über seine Wirksamkeit im Gebet und gegen böse Mächte.
- Obwohl die Kenntnis des ursprünglichen aramäischen Namens Jesu unser Verständnis seines historischen Kontextes und der Bedeutung seines Namens vertiefen kann, gibt es keine spirituelle Notwendigkeit, in der regulären christlichen Praxis „Yeshua“ anstelle von „Jesus“ zu verwenden. Die Kraft liegt in der Person, auf die sich der Name bezieht, nicht in seiner spezifischen Aussprache.
