  • L'arancione non è nella Bibbia, né come colore né come frutto. L'inglese non aveva una parola per definirlo finché il frutto non ne ha fornita una nel XVI secolo.
  • Il vocabolario dei colori dell'ebraico biblico è limitato e designa tinture e materiali piuttosto che punti su uno spettro, quindi la domanda viene posta con un vocabolario che il testo non possiede.
  • Le cose più vicine sono oggetti: la corniola, la pietra rosso-arancio che è la prima nel pettorale del sommo sacerdote (Esodo 28:17) e nelle fondamenta della città (Apocalisse 21:20), e il fuoco.
