  • O Sínodo de Trento abordou erros relativos à Eucaristia e esclareceu os ensinamentos sobre a comunhão sob ambas as espécies e a comunhão das crianças.
  • Os leigos e os clérigos que não consagram não estão obrigados a receber a comunhão sob ambas as espécies, pois uma espécie é suficiente para a salvação.
  • A Igreja detém a autoridade para alterar práticas sacramentais para o benefício dos fiéis e sustenta que Cristo está plenamente presente em qualquer das espécies.
  • As crianças não são obrigadas a participar da Eucaristia, e os bispos devem garantir a administração e manutenção adequadas das ordens e benefícios da igreja.
