  • 出エジプト記19章4節と申命記32章11節は、鷲が雛を運ぶように、神がイスラエルをエジプトから連れ出し、荒野を導かれた様子を描いています。
  • イザヤ書40章31節は、主を待ち望む者は「鷲のように翼をかって上る」と約束しています。これは、自分たちの道が神から隠されているというイスラエルの不平(40章27節)に対する答えです。
  • 預言者たちは、侵略してくる軍隊を鷲に例えています。ハバクク書1章8節のカルデア人、エレミヤ書48章40節と49章22節のモアブとエドムの敵がそれにあたります。
