Anglicans are not Roman Catholics. Their mother church, the Church of England, calls itself both “catholic and reformed.” The two churches confess the ancient creeds and accept each other’s baptism. Anglicans also count their bishops, priests and Eucharist as catholic, a claim Rome rejects. They differ most over the Pope, married and women clergy, transubstantiation and the Marian dogmas.
