概要

  • 創世記はノアの年代を年数ではなく年齢で示しています。レメクが182歳の時にノアが生まれ（創世記5:28）、ノアの600歳の時に洪水が起こりました（創世記7:11）。
  • ヘブライ語本文では洪水は天地創造から1,656年後ですが、サマリア語本文では1,307年、ギリシャ語七十人訳では2,242年となっています。
  • ジェームズ・アッシャーの 世界の年代記 （1650年、英語版1658年）では、ノアの誕生を紀元前2948年、洪水を紀元前2349年、ノアの死を紀元前1998年としています。
  • Answers in Genesisは洪水を紀元前2348年、Institute for Creation Researchは約紀元前2472年、Associates for Biblical Researchは予備調査に基づき紀元前3300年頃より前ではないとしています。
  • Reasons to Believeは系図に欠落があると解釈し、約5万年から4万年前の地域的な洪水を示唆しています。BioLogosは、その年代は創世記の意味にとって重要ではないという立場をとっています。
  • 古代シュメールのキシュやシュルッパクで見つかった洪水の堆積物は紀元前3000年頃のものですが、ノアの名を記した碑文はありません。
